Goldstock 2008 : Goldstock is held at Camp Weequahic in Lakewood, PA on Labor Day weekend and hosted by Gail Lustig. Goldstock is a celebration of our dogs and of rescue. This year marked the 11th ANNIVERSARY! This event was started as a small get together and in support of Golden Retriever Rescue. Over the years it has grown to include over 30 rescue groups selling wonderful merchandise; people from all over the US, as well as Canada and the UK; and many many happy dogs! Since Goldstock's inception, several hundred thousand dollars has been raised for rescue. The weekend includes many events such as the Doggie Olympics, CGC & TDI testing, Senior Recognition and Rescue Parades and the Candle Ceremony. This year, the weather started off cloudy and drizzly, but by Sunday it was picture perfect! Goldstock 2006 : Goldstock is held at Camp Weequahic in Lakewood, PA on Labor Day weekend and hosted by Gail Lustig. Goldstock is a celebration of our dogs and of rescue. This event was started as a small get together and in support of Golden Retriever Rescue. Over the years it has grown to include over 30 rescue groups selling wonderful merchandise; more than 300 people from all over the US, as well as Canada and the UK; and well over 400 very happy dogs. In the 8 years of Goldstock, several hundred thousand dollars has been raised for rescue. The weekend includes many events such as the Doggie Olympics, CGC & TDI testing, Senior Recognition and Rescue Parades and the Candle Ceremony. Goldstock 2006 was the wettest year so far as the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto stayed for the weekend. But we did not let it "rain on our parade" and held some of the events indoors. Nothing can dampen our golden hearts! Turtle Rescue of Long Island : These photos are of my journey to find a 5 year old Red Eared Slider Turtle a good home. She was brought into my workplace in a VERY small tank with no adequate food or shelter. I took her in and thought it would be easy to place her with someone. I was wrong! After going online and educating myself about these turtles I found out that it is illegal to sell them in New Jersey. So I was unable to find anyone willing to take her. I called zoos, aquariums, pet supply stores, rescue groups, veterinarians you name it. I also learned that it is illegal and harmful to release it into the wild. The only people that responded to help me was Turtle Rescue of Long Island.(www.turtlerescues.com)I spoke to 2 wonderful people, Steve and Julie. And made the trek to Long Island to bring the turtle, who I named Mrytle, to Julie's foster pond. The following photos are mostly of the ponds and turtles on Julie's wonderful property. Cape May 2008 : Our Summer Vacation, August 10th-17th, spent in Cape May New Jersey. We rented a house in Townbank, New Jersey that was directly across the street from the bay. The first day we spotted dolphins! And the last day there we watched the most beautiful sunset ever! We had a great time and the dogs really enjoyed themselves. I think after a while they thought we were staying there forever...wishful thinking :-)

Halo's 1st Trip to the Beach! : (Photos are unedited at this time.) Halo and Archie went for a ride to visit Halo's littermate Remy and Remy's brothers and sisters: Jenny, Maggie, Kelly, Dusty and Tanner. Halo and Remy recognized each other and instantly began playing. After some playtime, Dusty, Jenny, Halo & Archie got to go to the beach.This was Halo's first time! He had a blast running all over, playing ball with Dusty, and even took a dip in the water with his big brother Archie. After the beach, the humans had a nice lunch while the dogs chewed on bully sticks, and Halo even got to taste some goats milk which he liked very much! Then it was time for more wrestling for the boys Halo and Remy, while the other dogs enjoyed the gorgeous springtime weather. Fun was had by ALL! :-)

Halo's 1st time in the brook : Mother's Day at my moms house...always a favorite place for the dogs. We all went for a walk together, my mom and Kai, Lino took Archie and I took Halo for a walk down the path. Halo took a dip in the brook for the first time! He had a blast on his walk, in the water, and meeting some of the neighborhood kids :-) Afterwards we had a great meal and awesome dessert that we brought. All the dogs are tired and the people could use a nap :-)

Halo Goes Swimming : Halo goes swimming for the first time at a family BBQ 6-6-09. His inital counter was in the deep end but he also came in with me several times at the shallow end. The rest of the time he ran around like a maniac, chewed on his bully stick, and showed off with a hamburger woobie he stole from the resident Shitzu, Kahlua. He had sooo much fun and was very well behaved for a 5 month old Puppy!
